My Beautiful Brain Elizabeth Ashmore

My university project –

At the age of 20 I woke up to realise I had suffered a major stroke, this had left me with a physical disability. This film is a montage of my story, and the aim was to educate the public that a stroke can happen at any age, and to try to convey the effects of a stroke on the family. I wanted to demonstrate that you can recover after a stroke through motivation and determination, and that with the right support can achieve your goals.  I have tried new techniques and processes to make my final piece artistic.  The accompanying poster is in the style of Andy Warhol, using a process called risograph. Both the film and poster involve my original brain scan and I have researched my own personal experience interviewing only the nurses and my family who supported me through this time.
