  1. It's extremely diffcult to believe that Nico was a functioning herion addict for 9 years! ( How did she have her son? Or was that before she began using heroin?) I think it's so sweet that Lou Reed was so in love with her, he seems so sweet! He's looking at her in almost every group photo 🙂

  2. She looked pretty rough in latter yrs, likely from the decades of abuse. Shame she died at a relatively young age. Apparently, she was cleaning up her act and getting healthy when she died.

  3. She was a hard worker woman, who made her songs and played her musical instrument.
She survive the war, the sexual abuse by jude on age 13 and the fase 'Andy Warhol….Who ignored her when she needs carefully or money, after explore her beauty So, she gone by herself on the world of music.
She was alone and poor, and by the way, she
continues singing and playng for little audiences. Close to die she was using 'metadona'. A first step to stop with heroin.

  4. lol I would need to know an artist…..I find that a little strange of you to say…..
I agree with you on the respect she had from the Warhol factory group……and that is why she is seen as an icon to many people in some way or another….but still i would not want to be witness or victim to some of here crazy moments…. Im not judging her….i never knew her…who am i to say anything really besides my opinion 🙂

  5. how so? i believe edie & nico were friends? @ least 'til they spent time @ L.A.'s the Castle w/ jim morrison in summer of '67.
tho i have heard nico comment re: edie: "she was born to die of her pleasures…"

  6. more people who love nico so much should really look into her history….she wasnt so nice and everything…….i mean she was a pretty face but she seemed to turn into a drug addict who didnt care about anything…..plus she was always pulling knifes on people including her own band mates…….left her only son with parents…….hated beauty and didnt care if her teeth rotted away………

  7. hi iwearblueshoes. i love when u comment 🙂
i have read ALOT about andy (not so much recently, i kinda burned out on hearing the same stuff over & over lol), but i kinda suspect he kept his lovelife hidden, as there is recent speculation that he did indeed have a busy "personal" life, but i agree that he seemed to have had many insecurities and romantic hardships along the way. but who knows? maybe he kept that aspect as an enigma to fuel his legend. colacello wrote a book? i'll hafta checkit

  8. tho i agree with alot of that, he hardly was showered with negativity and rejection his entire life. he was tight with his fam (esp. his mom, who showered him with positivity from an early age) and was VERY successful in his advertising career. he knew how to work the gifts he had, and morphed his limitations into something unique and spectaular. in some ways, he and edie were mirrors of each other. she connected him to the high-powered nyc art world elite tho, catapulting him to A-List status.
