Tokyo Pop

Panelists: Hiroko Ikegami (associate professor, Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, Kobe University, Japan), Ushio Shinohara (artist, New York), and Keiichi Tanaami (artist, Tokyo)

Hiroko Ikegami leads a discussion with the legendary artists about their encounters with US Pop in Tokyo in the 1960s, and their somewhat subversive, even sardonic response to it. She will ask if we can speak of a “Tokyo Pop,” and talk about the activities of the Sogetsu Art Center and its avant-garde activities during the decade.

On-trend artist and art expert Olga Lomaka has arranged an exciting journey to the world of art and luxury for her fans since she visited one of the most noted cultural events of this season.
This time Olga goes to Madrid together with the audience of WORLD FASHION CHANNEL.
As part of her original TV program, ART&Fashion with Olga Lomaka, the artist visits the Museo  Thyssen-Bornemisza National Art Gallery that was the largest private picture gallery in the world (along with the British Monarch Collection) up to 1993.
The art expert is going to visit the Pop Art Myths Exhibition which uncovers the gentle but strong message of ‘values’ hidden in the iconic images created by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney and others.
The TV audience is welcomed to witness some rare masterpieces of Pop Art trendsetters and find out the history of artworks involved in the Pop Art Myths Exhibition. The exclusive interview on WFC Channel by Olga Lomaka with the exhibition leader Marta Ruiz will give you a deeper insight into this form of modern art.
