Pop art makeup is a fun and easy way to make a statement with your makeup and disguise from all your unsightly blemishes! I was inspired by Roy Lichtenstein, whose use of bold colours and parodies on pop culture led him to become one of the leading figures of the pop art movement.

Hey guys! I have been dying over Karla Powell ever since her Pop Art look was posted on IG aound IMATS time. She is BY FAR my favorite makeup artist of the moment. She’s definitely one to follow on Instagram if you have an account, but she does have a YT channel as well, where she posts really cool behind the scenes footage as well as some tutorials 🙂
Check out her channel here:

I really wanted to create a pop art/comic book makeup look this year because of Karla’s look, so here is my attempt! I really hope you guys enjoy! A quick tip, don’t drink as much coffee as I did before I filmed, my hand was shakin’ like a leaf. KISSES!!

Loving the look of Revlon’s Photoready eyeshadow palettes and I got my hands on the ‘Pop Art’ palette to have a play about with.
Let me know which of the 3 eye looks was your favourite…. Daytime? Evening? or Glittery Glam??
Really like the pigmentation of the colours and even though I don’t usually go for super bold eye looks… these shades are really wearable and I think the green shades compliment my brown eyes quite nicely…. so a big thumbs up for this palette.
In this makeup tutorial, I’ll show you how I do a quick and easy Roy Lichtenstein-inspired pop art look! YAY! (It’s my first tutorial, so bear with me!) I’ve been doing this look since 2009, and this is the super fast, super basic version of it — if you have more time (and more products!), you can opt to do tears, like I did last Halloween, or make your eyebrows look sadder, or put on really thick falsies, but I digress. (Also, you could opt to do the dots neater than I did here, haha! I was in such a hurry, and my paint is from last year so it’s kind of congealing!)
What you need to create this look:
— any gel eyeliner (I used an old pot of Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner…it was starting to dry out!)
— an angled eyeliner brush (I used a NARS #38 angled brush)
— your favorite matte red lipstick (I used MAC RiRi Woo)
— violet eyeshadow (you can substitute with any color you want; I used a shade from one of the Karl Lagerfeld x Shu Uemura palettes)
— Make Up For Ever Aquarelle face and body paint in red (running out of this, oh no!)
Comments, questions, and suggestions, down below, please! (Alternatively: http://vivatregina.tumblr.com/ask or http://www.ask.fm/vivatregina, but I don’t answer questions there.) Halloween really is coming up, so if you have any Halloween looks you’d like to see me attempt, let me know in the comments and I’ll see what I can do.
But I promise, in the future, I’ll do tutorials for looks that you can actually wear on days that aren’t Halloween. I just wanted to do something crazy for my first. Haha!
